Ah, these summer days! Flipflops, wavy hair, vacations and adventures, just couldn’t be better! And when you’re supposed to have the biggest fun of your life and ride the waves of happiness – your unwanted little friends start appearing on the face, ruining the party. We’ve all been there and the summer heat makes it even worse, as make-up slides all over when the face, exposing these uninvited guests.
The perfect Skin Blog is here to save the day and give you the best advice on a blemish-free summer!
Do not touch your face with the hands
It’s hot outside and you are sitting by the pool, having a margarita and enjoying life. Awesome! Just don’t touch your face. Your hands are going into the wallet to pay for the drink, are in contact with the sunbed and other objects around and there are plenty of germs around that you really don’t want to end up on your face and cause you the worst breakouts. And if you want to touch up, just wash your hands first. Old school advice – but still works.
Your spf cream for the body is not always suitable for the face
The importance of sun protection has been talked over so much, that everybody knows all about it. But one little thing slips the conversation – your face skin is much more sensitive than your body skin and is prone to breaking up. Some sunscreens may be suitable for your body and work just great, but if you use them for the face, you can feel that they are very heavy, you can literally feel them weighing the skin and clogging the pores. Pick special face sunscreens, some of them have labelling like sensitive and non-comedogenic, they will be much more suitable for the face.

Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse
No summer party must end with entering the house and plunging into the soft bed. First we cleanse, then we sleep)! It is an absolute must to wash your face at the end of a long summer day, to take off all the sweat, oils and left make-up. Double cleanse is even more preferable and exfoliation too. The best way to check if your face is really clean is after you have done all your evening beauty routine, is to take a clean cotton pad, wet it with a toner to finalize the cleanse and go gently over the whole face. The cotton must remain absolutely white after it, telling you that you have done a great job with the cleansing. The toner also helps to soothe the pores, revitalize the skin and give radiance. If you never tried one – give it a go and you will be amazed: https://puretropix.com/products/green-ginger-toner
Go light with the make-up
Pick formulas that breathe and put less on the skin, heavy foundations in summer heat could be a trigger for the breakouts, plus in direct sunrays this kind of make-up looks cakey and won’t flatter you anyways. You can also opt for bb creams with sunscreen included, just to give yourself a little bit of color and glow. Or if you have oily skin – try a powder foundation and skip everything else. Less is more in this case and summer is the perfect season to embrace your natural beauty, enjoy the sun, water and have fun!
